Who needs a medical licensure for lasers and injectables in Vermont?

Issued by Vermont Board of Medical Practice; Office of Professional Regulation (nursing, electrology, esthetics), at step 4 of 6 in the opening sequence: get the permits for your kind of business.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Vermont

Esthetics in Vermont excludes the use of lasers for any purpose. Whoever operates a laser must personally hold a medical license or an electrology license with the laser endorsement; a medical director’s involvement does not substitute. Injectables and other energy-based treatments are the practice of medicine or nursing, performed by a physician, physician assistant or nurse within their scope. The medical side of the business belongs to the licensed practitioners.
