Who needs a manufacturer license, or brewpub license in Alabama?

Issued by Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, at step 5 of 6 in the opening sequence: alcohol permits.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Alabama

A taproom that brews holds the manufacturer license, which lets a brewery that is actively brewing on the premises serve its own beer by the glass and sell it to take home within the limits in 28-3A-6. A brewpub license covers up to 10,000 barrels a year but only inside a restaurant that serves food, must keep brewing continuously to sell, and may sell kegs to wholesalers. The federal TTB brewer’s notice comes first, the premises must be in a wet jurisdiction, and the city or county must approve.
