Who needs a pet vendor license (selling animals); no state license for grooming or boarding in New Hampshire?

Issued by New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food, Division of Animal Industry (RSA 437), at step 4 of 6 in the opening sequence: get the permits for your kind of business.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in New Hampshire

A pet vendor is anyone transferring 30 or more dogs, cats or ferrets, 50 or more birds, or the quantities of reptiles, fish and small mammals the Department sets by rule, in a year; the license follows an inspection and animals sold come with the health certificate and records the chapter requires. A groomer or boarding kennel asks the town whether it licenses kennels locally.
