Who needs a physician practice and delegation rules in Hawaii?

Issued by Hawaii Medical Board (DCCA Professional and Vocational Licensing), at step 4 of 6 in the opening sequence: get the permits for your kind of business.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Hawaii

Hawaii has no laser statute; the Medical Board treats laser, intense pulsed light and injectable treatments as the practice of medicine, so they are done by a physician or physician assistant, or by a nurse under a physician’s or nurse practitioner’s orders, and never by an esthetician or other unlicensed person even under delegation. Cosmetology licensees stay with non-medical skin care. The medical side of the business belongs to the licensed practitioners.
