Who needs a small brewery license in Maine?

Issued by Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations, Division of Liquor Licensing and Enforcement, at step 5 of 6 in the opening sequence: alcohol permits.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Maine

A small brewery may run one attached tasting room where it pours samples and full glasses of its own beer and sells it to go. To serve other makers’ beer, wine or spirits, or to run a full restaurant, the brewery also holds an on-premises retail license under chapter 43 (the row above). The federal TTB brewer’s notice comes first and the town must approve the premises.
