Who needs a city pet shop, grooming or kennel license in Minnesota?

Issued by Your city clerk (Minneapolis: commercial animal care provider license); Minnesota Board of Animal Health for breeders only, at step 4 of 6 in the opening sequence: get the permits for your kind of business.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Minnesota

Minnesota has no state pet shop or kennel license, so grooming, boarding and pet sales are licensed by the city. Minneapolis licenses any business grooming, boarding or caring for animals for a fee, with an inspection, and does not allow the sale of dogs, cats or rabbits in any establishment. Ask the clerk in other cities, since many license kennels and pet shops by ordinance.
