Who needs a craft brewery license in Nebraska?

Issued by Nebraska Liquor Control Commission, at step 5 of 6 in the opening sequence: alcohol permits.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Nebraska

A craft brewery makes up to 20,000 barrels a year and sells its own beer by the glass and to go at the brewery with no other retail license; selling other brewers’ beer, wine or spirits by the drink needs a Class C or I license as well. It may self-distribute up to 250 barrels a year to retailers where it has no wholesaler, and one license may cover several physical locations. The federal TTB brewer’s notice comes first and the city must approve the premises.
