Who needs a pet shop, grooming and boarding business license; animal establishment permit in Nevada?

Issued by Your city or county business license office and animal control (Clark County Code 6.12.792; Henderson, Las Vegas, Reno and Washoe County ordinances), at step 4 of 6 in the opening sequence: get the permits for your kind of business.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Nevada

Selling, boarding or grooming animals is a licensed category in the local business license, and animal control inspects shops and kennels for the care standards in NRS Chapter 574 and the local code. Clark County’s 2023 animal welfare rules tightened breeding and sale permits; a shop selling dogs and cats should ask animal control which permit applies before signing a lease. Grooming alone needs only the business license.
