Who needs a physician supervision of lasers and injectables in Wyoming?

Issued by Wyoming Board of Medicine; Wyoming Board of Cosmetology, at step 4 of 6 in the opening sequence: get the permits for your kind of business.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Wyoming

The Board of Medicine’s rules make operating, or delegating the operation of, an FDA Class II or III device such as a laser or intense pulsed light unit the practice of medicine unless it happens under the supervision of a licensed practitioner, and the Cosmetology Board tells its licensees that laser hair removal, Botox and body sculpting are medical treatments done by or under a licensed medical provider in a medical setting, never in a salon on a cosmetology or esthetics license. A physician who delegates must be qualified in the procedure and supervise the person doing it; nurses inject only on a prescriber’s order after an exam.
