Who needs a local pet shop or kennel license, where the city has one in Wyoming?

Issued by Your city clerk or animal control, under the city code, at step 4 of 6 in the opening sequence: get the permits for your kind of business.

1 of the 20 kinds of business in Wyoming

The state does not license or inspect pet shops, kennels, boarding or grooming, so the rules are local: Cheyenne-Laramie County’s board of health may inspect pet sales locations, and most cities license a kennel once more than a set number of dogs are kept. Ask the clerk whether a kennel or pet shop license applies before signing the lease; grooming alone usually needs only the city business license.
